Dr. Peter Laier to join the Executive Board of Knorr-Bremse AG

The Supervisory Board of Knorr-Bremse AG has appointed Dr. Peter Laier (47) Executive Board member responsible for the Commercial Vehicle Systems division. Effective January 1, 2016, he is to succeed Klaus Deller (53) who has filled this position in an interim capacity in addition to his role as Chairman of the Executive Board.

On Deutsche Bahn’s special “Train to Paris”, Knorr-Bremse is to present its portfolio of climate-compatible energy-saving products. German Federal Minister of the Environment Barbara Hendricks will be traveling in climate-friendly style on Deutsche Bahn’s special train to the 21st UN Climate Change Conference where the 194 Parties aim to reach a new agreement to succeed the Kyoto Protocol.

Heinz Hermann Thiele to step down from the future Supervisory Board of Knorr-Bremse AG

Heinz Hermann Thiele, principal shareholder and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Knorr-Bremse AG, is to step down from the role of Chairman of the Supervisory Board and of the company’s Advisory Council in March of next year. After a total of 46 years working for Knorr-Bremse, 28 of them on the Executive Board and nine as Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Thiele wants to dedicate more time to his private life and personal business interests. He will continue as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Vossloh AG, Werdohl, until further notice.

High-speed rail in Japan: systems for 300 km/h and over

Bringing high-speed trains safely to a standstill from speeds of over 300 km/h calls for expertise and experience. Knorr-Bremse has been braking fast trains for more than 50 years. From July 7-10, 2015 the company will be showcasing and providing insight into the relevant products and systems at the 9th World Congress on High Speed Rail in Tokyo. This premium international expert forum is being organized by the worldwide association of railways, UIC, and East Japan Railway Company.
